For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made.

St. Thomas, USVI – Day 16
When the rains come, they come. Occasionally there will be light drizzle, but usually the sun is out and it’s refreshing. But when it rains, boy does it rain. Continue reading “Busy Bee”
St. Thomas, USVI – Day 15
A few ideas popped into my head about what I was going to write about today, but I made the mistake of not writing them down when I thought of them so I have, obviously, forgotten them. Continue reading “I Thought We Were Having Chicken?”
St. Thomas, USVI – Day 14
It is bright here. Like insanely bright. St. Thomas sits 18.3° north of the equator. For reference Cleveland sits at 41.5°N. So that’s about 23° further south than I’m used to being. Going from the much darker tents to outside actually hurts if you’re not wearing sunglasses. Continue reading “Shine Bright Like a Diamond”

St. Thomas, USVI – Day 11
Go anywhere in the world and you’ll no doubt find that a common opinion of Americans is “Why do they all expect the rest of the world to be like America?” This is a known quantity. Continue reading “By Whose Standards?”

St. Thomas, USVI – Day 9/Homestead, FL – Day 4
Today we officially got the word that we are leaving tomorrow morning. Very early tomorrow morning. That will be good though, it will give us plenty of time to get things set up. Continue reading “Soon”
St. Thomas, USVI – Day 8/Homestead, FL – Day 3
I haven’t shaved since Monday. Haven’t been in uniform, haven’t had to. I probably will tomorrow though. Hell, we may even be leaving tomorrow so I may have to. Continue reading “We Made a Racquet”
