Today I woke up at 6:30, checked my phone, saw the time, wondered why no one had woken me up and then realized that no one else was awake either. Slow start. We weren’t really planning on doing anything. We didn’t even have to be in uniform. I helped refuel the generators and then we just kind of hung out in the nice air conditioned tents. After lunch we consolidated people and tore down unoccupied tents. I figured we’d have some down time while we were here, wasn’t expecting it to be this soon. But no one knows what’s going on with these storm plans so we’re just kind of waiting.
The tent takedown was really the activity for the day. I did get a little stick time in the skid loader cleaning up a couple of paths, so there’s at least been a little equipment operation. Also I found a crab:
We had Wendy’s for dinner. The first non MRE meal I’ve had since I left.
It was also my first trip deeper into the island. You get a much bigger picture of what happened:
But it’s not all depressing. We did get some entertainment
Still unclear what we’re doing or where we’re going, but we’re going to start taking stuff down tomorrow so I imagine that we’re going to be leaving at some point.
